A hate turned into love

My Writing Journey

Sitting under the tree while observing things around me is what I usually do when I was still living in our province during my younger years. I awlays have this feeling of being curious to everything I see and I cannot help myself to respond with those that keeps me think innocently. As I grow up, I never stopped discovering things and with this, I started putting up opinions in my mind, making my own interpretation of them.

Journalism 102, specifically "FEATURE WRITING" not really made me feel interested when I knew it will be one of my major subjects. First, I am not a type of student who loves to read and write. I just came to notice things unintentionally. Second, if there will be ideas, thoughts, emotions and the like that I have constructed in my mind, I just keep it to myself and I am not that eager to let people know. Third, my passion is in broadcasting. In writing, I observed that I could easily get bored and I don't know why. But since it is required, I had to deal with it and honestly, I was really challenged. Nobody will feel that it is easy to do things that is beyond their interest, and that's what I felt. Because I had no any other choice, I still tried to enjoy it. Maybe I just don't know the happiness and satisfaction that it gives to those people who are making it as a way to express themselves. As I was getting more and more familiar with the nature of writing, I already felt the joy that I was saying specially when I had the chance to write about a topic that is really related to me. I learned that even we don't feel doing such work, we just have to love it, appreciate it, and cherrish it. We'll never know the hidden advantage of it unless we will try.

It's hard to enumerate each memories that I had. But all I know is that everything is memorable because it's not just a journey, I consider it as a great challenge where I survived. In six months, writng have been part of my routine already and in this I learned that it must be coupled with good working attitude and values. For in writing, we communicate, we express, and the most important thing is WE INFLUENCE. A real dedicated writer should have a goal of leaving his or her reader at least a simple lesson that they will carry and apply to real life the moment they're done reading what you have written. As the saying goes.....

"YOU WRITE TO COMMUNICATE TO THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF OTHERS."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. What are the stories that you wish to cover?
- After being able to learn the basic skills in feature writing, including its type and the techniques, I could say that Inspirational Articles will suit my  interest.
2. Who do you wish to interview?
- I will surely grab the chance to talk to persons who will fit to my intended inspirational articles and I prefer those ordinary persons rather than those who are well-known bec. we can always get informations to those whom we can regularly see on televisions, newspaper and the like while the ordinary persons that I want to have a conersation with are will be only given a single chance to share at least something that could really influence my target readers. And for me, stories of the unknown are more intersting thatn those in the spotlights.
3. How do you wanna be remembered by your readers?
- It's not me that they should remember, instead, it must be the content of my every article. I am not dreaming to be one of those famous writers on earth, I would feel very glad and contented if at least one of my writings could inspire them. As simple as that. :)
